My story

Why I Started Project Generational Wealth, Inc.

Most of us are familiar with the African Proverb ‘It Takes a Village to Raise a Child’. However, an equally profound African Proverb tells us that ‘Knowledge is a Garden. If it isn’t Cultivated, You can’t Harvest it’.

Both of these Proverbs embody the foundational principles of Project Generational Wealth, Inc.: Community, Knowledge, Growth, and Legacy. Each of these principles plays a critical role in cultivating what we worked so hard to achieve so that it can serve us during our lifetime and for generations to come. Wealth is about creating opportunities now and in the future.

Project Generational Wealth, Inc. was created with the understanding that generational wealth does not occur just because one attains wealth. It occurs when that wealth is cultivated through education, planning, communication, and change. It all starts with us, and the time to act is now.

As a first-generation college graduate, the road I traveled to get to where I am today wasn’t an easy one. My family did not come from wealth. There were plenty of days and nights that I didn’t know where my next meal was coming from. Yes, I survived, but I learned that life was not meant for me to be in perpetual survival mode. I believe that survival mode is only a temporary disposition until you learn how to thrive. That’s why I am committed to teaching my children the lessons I learned, the mistakes I made, and the skills I developed so that they can do better. This journey doesn’t stop with me; it is only the beginning of a storied life that will develop into fascinating chapters and sequels by and through the next generations. Those generations will be able to further develop this wealth with my cooperative assistance.

Project Generational Wealth, Inc. is a catalyst for individuals and families to have difficult conversations, break cycles of poverty, redefine family traditions, confront strongholds and fears, and work in unison to forge a solid path to generational wealth. The curriculums are designed to build a strong sense of community, leadership, character, and discernment so that collective movement results in sustained financial progress.
